Letterbox(d)

2024 Branding Project
Made in Indesign, Photoshop, & Procreate

Letterbox(d) is a branding project based on the app Letterboxd. This project’s challenge and ultimate goal was to turn Letterboxd into a physical experience.

In addition to the already existing app, my brand idea is turning Letterboxd into a monthly subscription-based shirt service.

You will get one shirt and two postcards every month based on a movie you logged. The shirt will bluntly state your film review for other moviegoers to see. The shirt you see here is the shirt everyone receives during the first month of the service. One of the most essential things about Letterboxd is connection. This Avid Movie Reviewer shirt allows people to identify other movie reviewers in the wild to share opinions or follow each other on the app!

The other postcard is to be sent to a friend. On this postcard, you can write your own review and thoughts on the movie to share with others.

One of the postcards you get is for your collection, similar to the diary section of the app where you store all your movies.

The box itself is also part of the subscription! Reviews from your friends and movie recommendations from Letterboxd are printed onto the inside of each and every box. The inside of the box is designed to fit your movie of the month’s visual themes. You can cut off the sides of the box and display it however you please.
